Shady Grove Campground is in the heart of Seibert, CO; a small agricultural community that’s part of Kit Carson County in the high plains of Eastern Colorado. The county seat is Burlington, CO and nearby are other towns including Flagler, Stratton, Vona, and Bethune.

Each town has a little something to offer guests staying at the campground so if it’s eats or activities you’re looking for we encourage you to explore.

If you’re looking for recommendations we love The Dish Room in Burlington. Our own Seibert Liquors has a great selection, and the Boondoggle’s just off the Seibert exit is great for quick bites like burgers and sandwiches. Oh, and their curly fries are excellent!

Kit Carson County Map Overview

There is not really much in town in the way of food or services so especially if you’ll be staying multiple days and don’t want to have to drive too far, it’s recommended you pick up necessities on the way in.

Neighboring towns of Flagler and Stratton have grocery stores. There’s also the i-70 Diner in Flagler, and Handi’s in Stratton which does burgers, wings, and that sort of thing.

Burlington is the nearest larger town that has multiple restaurants, grocery stores, and liquor store. There’s also the Kit Carson County Carousel and the History Museum.

The Stratton Golf Course is available as well. To the best of our knowledge this is a self-service club that is pay on the honor system and is $15 per round.

There is also the Flagler Reservoir with some trails to walk and covered picnic areas.
